Fix Mic Icon Flashing Red
Fix audio issues causing the mic icon to flash red
Overview
This doc will teach you why the Mic Icon flashes red, what it means, and how to fix.
NOTE: Flashing red on the left side of the mic icon has a different meaning then the right side so make sure to read the correct section.

Left side (Mic In)

Right side (Mic Out)
What It Means
The mic icon flashing red means the SmoredBoard detected an issue with the audio chain that likely caused a click or pop on your mic. If this only happens rarely (once every few minutes), or just during startup that is completely fine and doesn't need to be addressed. If it happens often (multiple times a minute) try an appropriate fix below.
Left Side Flashing Red (Mic In)
The mic icon flashing red on the left side means that the mic input is underrunning. Meaning that the SmoredBoard is not receiving audio data from your mic fast enough.
To fix this you need to increase the latency of your mic in the SmoredBoard. If you don't know how to do this check this help doc out: Editing Mic Settings: Latency
Right Side Flashing Red (Mic Out)
The mic icon flashing red on the right side means that the mic output is lagging. This can be caused by the effects being too intensive for your CPU.
To fix this you'll need to lower the Sample Rate of your mic in the SmoredBoard. If you don't know how to do this check this help doc out: Editing Mic Settings: Sample Rate
NOTE: In theory this should never happen when no effects are active, but if it is please contact support@smoredboard.com and let us know your system specs so we can improve the SmoredBoard!
