Can Hear Self When Hear Self Is Off

What Causes This?

This is a known bug in version 1.0.4.2 (and older). The SmoredBoard shows the Virtual Mic is set to CABLE Input, but in the background it is actually using a different audio device.

Because the Virtual Mic is not truly connected to CABLE Input, your microphone audio gets routed back to you instead of being processed through the CABLE devices. This makes you hear yourself even though Hear Self is turned off.

How to Fix It

1. Open SmoredBoard and go to the Audio settings page
2. Change the Virtual Mic to any other audio device
3. Switch it back to CABLE Input

This forces the SmoredBoard to properly reconnect to CABLE Input, which should stop you from hearing yourself.
